The Triconex 3008 main processor (MP) is a critical component of the Tricon system (versions 9.6 and higher), capable of autonomous operation, executing user written control programs, and managing communication with I/O subsystems. It is designed specifically for critical process control certified to IEC 61508 SIL 3. This module is equipped with a fault-tolerant architecture that integrates advanced diagnostics (health monitoring of I/O/communication channels) and robust features, providing 99.999% availability in harsh industrial environments (petrochemical, power generation) where unplanned downtime poses catastrophic risks. Features: 1. Program execution: Run user written control programs and seamlessly communicate with the I/O subsystem. 2. Sequence of Events (SOE): Record events and synchronize time to achieve precise event tracking. 3. Advanced diagnosis: Continuously monitor the operational status of the main processor (MP), I/O modules, and communication channels. 4. Hot replacement: supports seamless replacement of faulty modules without interrupting system operation. 5. Microprocessor: Equipped with Motorola MPC860 processor, 32-bit architecture, operating frequency of 50MHz. 6.Memory: 16MB DRAM (without battery backup) 32KB SRAM (with battery backup) 6MB flash PROM 7. Tribus communication: operates at a speed of 25 megabits per second, with 32-bit CRC protection and fully isolated 32-bit DMA functionality. 8. I/O and communication bus: using Motorola MPC860, 32-bit architecture, operating frequency of 50MHz.
